Overview

SQL SPY was designed as a tool to display, monitor and report on valuable SQL Server information. SQL SPY’s reporting capabilities include the Server, Database, and Connection levels.

Generate data object biographies that include dependencies, sizes, indexes, rules, triggers and defaults, stored procedures, user functions and views. Monitor and record user connections over long periods of time with minimal impact even within the most sensitive production environment.

Major Features of SQL SPY

Connection Bubble Report: Displays connection information in a graphical bubble display of Waiting, Executing, Blocked and Wait-time connections.

Activity Monitors: This features is actually two features in one. The “Resource Distribution Bars”, displays how the MS SQL Server’s I\O, CPU and Memory are distributed, and the “Activity Graph” which displays the overall activity of the MS SQL Server using ISpySQL’s internal Algorithm.

User Connections: Displays a very detailed grid style report in near real-time of all incoming connections (Includes the ability to terminate a connection, filtering, and you can double click on a connection to produce an HTML report with complete resource Analysis for said connection).

Database Activity: Graphically or textually displays how incoming connections are distributed across databases.

Installation Instructions For Windows

Note:  How to find PublicDNS in AWS

Step 1) RDP  Connection: To connect to the deployed instance, Please follow Instructions to Connect to Windows  instance on AWS Cloud

Connect to the virtual machine using following RDP credentials:

  • Hostname: PublicDNS  / IP of machine
  • Port : 3389

Username: To connect to the operating system, use RDP and the username is Administrator.
Password: Please Click here to know how to get password .

Step 2) On the Start page, type  SQL SPY then click on SQL SPY 

Step 3) Other Information:

1.Default installation path: will be in your root folder “C:\Program Files (x86)\ISpySQL\SQL SPY 6\”
2.Default ports:

  • Windows Machines:  RDP Port – 3389
  • Http: 80
  • Https: 443

 Note : For using this Software , You need to install Any Version SQL Server Express.
